Property Disposal Plans

The preparation of a Property Disposal Plan (PDP) is considered an integral component of an agency’s Total Asset Management strategic planning and budgeting cycle.

It should:

  1. Demonstrate a clear linkage to an agency’s asset strategy;
  2. Separately identify properties;
    • with strategic or non-strategic values, refer to Premier's Memoranum 2003-3 Attachment A, Definitions;
    • still being used for core service delivery but are underutilised and requiring further assessment; and
    • that are vacant or formally declared surplus to core service delivery requirements.
  3. Clearly define disposal strategies for assets, including nominating preferred;
  • disposal methodology1, and
  • disposal agency Disposal Agency Nomination
  • Agencies should nominate if they require assistance in determining their future requirements for an underutilised asset.

    A guide to a Property Disposal Plan format is available on this website.
