Property Disposal

The Government, through its Total Asset Management policy, is encouraging agencies to retain only those assets that continue to support the achievement of the Government’s desired service outcomes. To assist in asset management reform Premier’s Memorandum 2003-3, Property Disposal Reforms, also announced the establishment of the Property Disposal Assessment Panel to provide advice to the GAMC on issues relating to agency property disposals.

The PDAP provides the GAMC with:

  • Feedback on agencies property disposal plans and advise on the preferred property disposal strategies and disposal agency for individual properties;
  • Advice on whole of government interests and expert property advice on property disposal related issues;

The PDAP is chaired by the Director, Land Management Branch, Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources and other agency members include:

  • Department of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Coordination Unit
  • NSW Treasury
  • Department of Commerce, Strategic Asset Management

The Department of Commerce (State Property) and the Department of Lands' Crown Lands Branch are expert advisers to the PDAP.

The PDAP protocols detail the terms of reference, membership, meeting and reporting timeframes.
